This camp is for kids that completed 6th through 9th grade during the 2019-20 school year. Middle School Week caters to kids who want the full experience of being away for a week at camp! Camp will run 10:00 a.m. Monday through 8:00 p.m. Friday.

We wanted to update you on our information related to how Covid19 will change our operating procedures. Camp will look a bit different this year, but we will do our best to ensure your children still have a great camp experience!

Before Coming to Camp

All campers should be free of fever, sickness, and exposure to someone with Covid-19 for a period of at least two weeks before the start of camp. You must be able to answer “NO” to these questions to attend camp.

In the last seven days has the camper had any one of these symptoms: cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing?

In the last seven days has the camper had at least two of these symptoms – fever, chills, muscle pain, headaches, sore throat, or diarrhea?

Does the camper have a pending Covid-19 test or are they currently isolating for Covid-19?

In the past 14 days have you been in contact with someone who has suspected or confirmed Covid-19?

Arriving the First Day

One of the biggest differences this summer will be how we are handling registration. We are doing everything while you are in your car. As you enter the camp driveway from Chapel Lane you will be greeted in your car and then directed to one of several drop off locations. Only the campers will be allowed to get out of the car. Counselors will help them take they stuff into the cabins. Temperatures will be checked at registration and those with a fever will not be allowed to stay. Watch for some new traffic patterns on the campgrounds as we now have a stone driveway that lets you exit onto Fivepointville Rd.

Every day

We have adjusted the camp schedule to eliminate large group activities and  have moved most activities outdoors to minimize risk. Campers will only be in close contact with those in their cabin groups. We have programmed scheduled breaks throughout the day for hand washing and have increased cleaning of facilities and activities during the day. Campers are not required to wear a mask but are certainly free to do so. Any camper who becomes sick at camp will isolated in the nurse’s station until parents can pick them up.

End of the Week

Unfortunately, we will not be able to have our Friday night cookout for family members, but we are planning on having an Awards Program on Friday night at 6:30 to recognize the kids and their hard work during the week. We will be providing the campers dinner then bringing them up to the tabernacle afterwards. We will bring all of their stuff up there so parents can park close to the Tabernacle.

We take the health and well-being of your children very seriously. The CDC has published information that lists the following as the lowest risk category.

Lowest Risk: Small groups of campers stay together all day, each day. Campers remain at least 6 feet apart and do not share objects. Outdoor activities are prioritized. All campers are from the local geographic area (e.g., city, town, county, community).

To that end we have modified several of our normal operating procedures.  Most, if not all, day campers are from the same geographic community.  Campers are placed in groups based primarily on family, then carpool units, to minimize exposure to other campers.  We have moved almost all activities outdoors. We have separate bad weather locations for each group.  Most activities already required distancing, i.e. horses, go karts, archery, barrel trains etc.  We are sanitizing activity equipment between different group usages.

Regarding masks:  Campers are free to wear masks at any time.  All campers are provided with a bandana colored to match their teammates that can serve as a mask if needed.  All our staff will carry masks to use if needed.  We will not be enforcing a mandatory mask order that the governor has admitted will not be enforced by state agencies or police.  If you are uncomfortable sending your child to camp under this scenario, we will offer a full refund should you decide to cancel.
